Hi Ebi--

HRH tires. Red rear tapers and silver fronts like you said. I like proline 2 stage foams for the rear. Stock foams in the front but you can run something stiffer if you want more steering.

OCRC has the same dirt as socal but they pack the track harder. Holeshots will work just fine. They are a popular tire there still.

17.5 gearing. Gear it tall! I would have some pinions in the 27-30 range. I have not driven the truck and not sure where wayne ended up with his but you need to gear them up. With a lipo you can gear taller since the car weighs less and the motor does not need to work as hard. With it being oct the weather should be cooler as well.

Hotels in the OCRC area. There is an Extended Stay Hotel just up the street. (a block away.)

There are a few others on westminster blvd. They are some pretty old hotels though.

I hope the links work. I can't vouch for any of these hotels since I have never stayed at them. I lived in this area all my life so no need to a hotel!

Those are the closest two I know of to the track.

Daniel -- Run the truck the way it is like scott said and adjust from there. The truck should feel more nimble and motor temps should be lower with the lipo. Make sure you adjust the ride hieght though.
