I think you thing of the JACO 1/12th 2stage where you had a harder non useable inner tire. Then on top you had the other compounds like pink.
The CRC and BSR tires have the form next to each other, plus the cost the same.
Most stop using the 2stage because they did not get the life out of the tires like they can now. We run are tires close to the rim and you can not do that with 2stage.
So they are two different type of tires.
