I was just looking at my gears, and the spurs that stripped in the main, I got the wrong 2nd gear Its 52 instead of 53, which is why I probably couldn't figure out gear mesh, It was either to tight, or to loose. Just put the right ones on, and it it perfect on both gears

All the gears are the same diameter no matter what, so you can use any combination of 1st and 2nd that you need. It's not the cause of the gear stripping.
