I'd have to disagree a bit. If we are speaking of stock motors then the 5pt kicks 7pt ass on low-end. This meaning the first kick when you pull the trigger. 7pt will smoke the 5pt if you have higher speed track but if you have tight corners, jumps or sections right after turn and you do not want to think just push the pedal then 5pt hands down. Still the 5pt will easily keep up with others and we have drivers who have been moving from V Spec to 5pt and they are very satisfied with the performance.
This is so subjective question. We do not know the each personal preference or the actual track conditions they run on. We can just make suggestions what might work. If you are not sure go with 5pt, if you need high speed and strong mid-top then go with 7pt, if you want linear engine with good top end and affordable price go with r-spec. Match these with proper pipe, do the break in well and off you go and newer look back
