Drifting101,

I agree that the first thing I would check would be the ride height. Then ensure that your radio's responsiveness is turned down. Sudden changes of direction on a Mini will make it roll over. I have mine at -45 on a Helios EX 10. This suits my driving style.

When you change tyres on a Mini you need to check your ride height. The chassis on my Mini is worn due to the low ride heights I run, however the only time my Mini rolls is when I clip a dome or I get punted.

For tuning on my Mini I use tyres and inserts first and then change springs if required. Thats all I change. On a large open track I may change the rear hub to zero degrees, but that is not often. This does not matter which track I go too. i have found that in most cases you need to run the front tyres harder than the rear. I generally do this by using mini fitted inserts in place of the supplied foam inserts.

Granpa and rccardr both seem to agree "that what inserts and tyres you use will have a huge influence on the handling of a Mini". However asking the local's,(provided they are willing to tell you), is the best way to find out or by trial and error.

A lot of the problem with Mini's is that people tend to try to drive them like a 4WD Tourer. This does not normally work. You need to be smooth on the throttle and steering to be fast with a Mini. You should get a basic setup and then learn to drive the car. ( Lesson No1 from TFG)

I have my setup that I use on the previous page,(everyone has their own unique setup), but the biggest change I made was to change the settings on my radio, which assisted me with becoming smoother.
