Check your ride height front and rear. With a hotter motor in your car, the tires will wear faster, and you will need to compensate for the wear by keeping up with ride height changes. For asphalt you may need to get the chassis higher in the air to prevent chassis rub. I know on carpet I keep mine at about 4 - 4.5mm front and rear, and about 3 - 3.5mm in the center. I think I am running a copper spring with .020 in the front, maybe .022...
Keeping the chassis off the ground is the way to turn faster laps. If it's rubbing, you will be loosing time, and handling.
