I think you just had a rare bad pack.... it's done... no chance of it getting better..

I have used my Orion 3200 in my XXX-4 on a 9x2 mod and a 3.5 Novak Brushless.. many many times.. after practicing or racing the pack is not hot.. it's barely over the ambient temp outside...

As for NiMh.. i still like them and use them.. ya they have a bit more maintenance required.. not too big of a deal. i have all the gear.. I can usually get 8 months to a year out of a pack before they get moved to "practice only" or retired. I haven't had my LiPos for a year yet.. so I am very curious to see the lifespan. They cost 2-3 times more than a NiMh.... so.. the jury is still out!
