thanks for the replies thats what I suspected,
in a related topic, I just got a new 4200 nimh charged and the power was amazing, the car was popping willies, why did that happen? can I make my other 4200 like that? they are only 3 months old used once a week I just charge, use 5 min and recharge in a week.

A battery discharger will be required to condition and balance the pack before you charge it. But yes you can possibly get your other pack to punch like that.
Fully balancing the pack down with a discharger, you will be able to get a fuller charge out of the old pack.
And what you are seeing is the packs are being repeaked to top off the highest punch possible just before a race heat and to warm them up a bit.
