If that were the case the jumping would have nothing to do with it, the capacitor is really meant for electrics that run the receiver, servo, and esc all on the same battery. In that setup if the voltage drops to low you lose everything as well that is why they came out with the capacitor for them.
The only reason I thought of it was the 5 second thing. Enough time for an rx pack to recover for whatever reason it dropped. I'm used to running brushless with lipo offroad so it does not affect me. Just a thought if it is a consistent problem.
