you could in theory make your own electomagnetic brake/damper system....
-take existing shock,
-wrap wire around the shock body(or use shock spring itself)
-connect ends to a power source that is variable
-fill shock with grey goo(ferrous material suspension)Think iron filings in oil
-continue with build of shock as usual.
Simply putting current through the coiled wire(electromagnet) will stiffen up suspension, more current=more dampening.
This is a VERY simplified explanation...what you do not see is the vast amount of money used to research the electronics that control how strong the magnetic field has to be depending on the road surface....
