Round 3 of the BBR LeMans Cup is in the books!

Here in NCAL we just completed the third race of BBR LeMans Cup series. The series is being held at all of the major tracks/clubs in the Northern California area for a total of eight races.

There are two classes:
Sports prototype – Which includes the following bodies. Group C, GTP & Can Am bodies. Power formula is 7.4 lipo and 13.5 or four cell Nmh and 10.5 brushless/19T brushed. 235mm and 200mm

GT – Uses the following bodies, Corvette, Ferrari, Viper, etc. Same power formula as the Sports Prototype class but 200mm only. For this year only, we are also allowing touring cars with foam tires as long as they are using a production based, two door sports car based body.

All cars run on the track at the same time with two separate scorings for points in the two classes. At this last race we had the following bodies in the race. Corvette C6, Viper, Callaway Corvette, Lola, Peugeot LeMans, Intrepid GTP and Lotec Group C. There where two Associated 10L3t’s, three CRC Gen-X10, three Associated 10L2 and a Serpent S400 touring car. At the last two races, Jim Rose in the Corvette C6/10L3t won overall!!! The Sports Prototype cars are faster due to the high down force bodies but we have had reliability issues. Points are awarded like the old formula 1 scoring system. 1st place = 9 points, 2nd place = 6 points, 3rd place = 4 points, 4th place = 3 points, 5th place = 2 points and 6th place = 1 point.

So... Here are the point standings after three rounds:
