I don't think you need to change other things... The meshings should be correct I'm told. I'm sure one of your racing buddies run an NTC3 and will have the 54T spur available. If you're uncertain, you can quickly mount the spur onto the G4 one way hub for the 1st gear spur and check it out. I would think the AE 54T spur is pretty cheap anyways.
Check Trinity's site... I think they list the 52T spur and 19T pinion.
