I think I read in the manual that 9 volts was the cut off for the DX3.0. The 4 cell DX3R I think is 4 volts.

What batteries are you using and how long does it go? I've got some cheap rechargable 2600 nimhs in mine, it seems to go for quite a while before needing a charge. Several weeks of racing in 2 classes with some playing around in between. I don't even remember the last charge. Don't think I've ever got it below 10. Haven't tried alkalines.

I agree that 9v seems kinda high, especially after getting the sweet DX3R.
