IMO, changing to a needle like the one being used effects the tune to much, with that much needle going into the spray bar the HS doesnt flow as well, making HSN adjustments overly sensitive, alot of people having bog issues are stating that when they went to lean the HS it started to bog after a few laps, this is because your closing off the main flow, on top of closing the spot where the flow enteres the engine, this old version needle allows a broader tunning windaw and less sensitivity, on top of a bit of snap on the bottom to mid feel.
another thing people can do is when they get there new engine, is remove the HSN assembly, and take the two washers and rub them on very fine sand paper, just enough to take the new off both sides, and put it back together, this will give a better seal, i do it with the new engines 08's anyway just because i'm used to it.
i am running a 08 3R and 7R currently and have zero lean or bog or inconsistant running out of the engines. I rarley move the HSN any, maybe an hour from box settings, and use the LS to get performance.
Guys...I've ran 3 of Brians engines and followed his tuning tips on all of them and have had no problems. The Go engines CANNOT be tuned for performance with the HSN....the LSN is where it's at.
