I'm guessing that the dish wheels act as a spoiler (more of a side plate) on the front when you go to turn, instead of allowing the air to pass though. So when you first go turn the wheel is going lets say left, but the car is still going straight, so being that the wheel has more surface area it allows the wheels to catch some of the air a little better which adds that little bit of downforce. So really I would think that the spoke wheels are really more aerodynamic then the dish wheels as they allow the air to pass through instead of catching on and in the wheel.
