i learned a hard lesson about aluminum clutch maintenance today
i fixed my servo last night and was going to change my clutch bearings but got lazy and didnt
of course the 1st qualifyer they locked up
so i took it apart to change them and when i removed the clutch bell the shoes looked like they were already engaged the shoes were hanging up on the flywheel from the ridge that wears into them
i had to cut the springs out from the shoes they were so worn
i was told that i needed to take apart the clutch and clean up all those ridges but i hadnt for about a month i will have to make certain i dont wait that long again
i decided to fix my futaba servo again because i dont have any money for a servo right now turns out it looks like exactly the same gear that my friend running sanwa servos changes somewhat regularly also he buys that gear in a bag of 4 i think for 3 bucks and says he always keeps them handy
i guess i should do the same and make sure i change it before big races
