Well, I have to say I am really liking the 3 port R. I got to run it for the second time yesterday after break in and things are looking really good.
I was a little frustrated the first run after break in as I was experiencing a severe lean bog that I just couldn't tune out - turns out I was having some fuel tank issues with the RC8. So, I threw a mugen tank on and hit the track again.
I basically had to start over from a tuning standpoint - the Go's definitely tune a bit different, a fat top end (around flush) and a leaner bottom seems to do the trick. After figuring this out I was really enjoying this motor. Really smooth power from top to bottom - very driveable (is that a word?). By the end of the day I was running right at 220 and got a 9:23 run time, very respectable I think. (it was a pretty small track, so I expect a little less on a larger more WOT track).
I'm using an 086 and am still running the extra shim for break in as I haven't hit a gallon quite yet and the engine still has lots of pinch. I'm headed to a larger track on Sat. so I should be able to open it up a bit more.
Great info on this thread for these engines!
