march to our own - perhaps you did not read this part of my post. and based by the responses that it generated, i would say that it is a relevant issue. 1/12 scale has been around since the dawn of time with litte to no change other than going from 6 cell to 4. as a matter of fact, only in the last 3 years or so have we seen significant changes in design with the link cars and the newer front ends.

i love 1/12 scale, alwys have, always will. and most of all i love the speedmerchant rev 5 that currently own. i would just like to see some technology come into light that would make it easier for guys like me that only get to run it 10 times a year be able to have consistant, low maintence power. so i can enjoy it with out having to worry if my batteries are in the propper shape cause i have not run them in 6 months.

when i made the switch to lipo in my touring cars, i swore that i would never go back. with my intrest in running 1/12 at nats, i had to pony up and buy the cells. now they sit in my garage, going bad. sure, i could cycle them weekly, but i am to busy drinking beer, and painting bodies, you know.......the important stuff, while the lipos that sit in my touring cars will be ready to run sunday because i charged them last week.
