The fast guys I know don't even use them in 19T.

The problem is that the slippers are too large in diameter to allow for a small spur. It would take a lot of work to get a small diameter slipper to work and it would no doubt involve a unique spur.

One of the side benefits of gearing a 17.5 to the moon is it softens the torque a bunch. It has much less multiplication with that tall of a gear. Heck...one way you can tell you're actually making it work is that they actually get warm. My 13.5s barely get warm.
