Questions?? Temps; is it really enough???

There is always a question on my mind, "What is the absolute hottest you can run your motor ,without completely burning it out?"

I have had some temping issues lately, i run in the brushed stock motor classx, my motors are T-Bang stock tuned.

What I have found is most people I know run conservatively at no higher than 140 degrees. is this an actual temp law for these supposed tuned motors??

i ran my 12 scale the other day after tuning my motor by hand and gearing up quite a bit, this thing was an absolute ROCKET!! I mean WOW, I gave myself a big pat on the back for tuning such a great motor.

On the other hand, my temps were around 180, which in my own opinion is too high. Although my view on this is due to the conditioning of other racers who say this is high.

So last weekend I ran my cars again, this time i geared accordingly but am running in the 15-160 range, sure this is hot to the touch, but is really too hot for the motor???

Am I a brainwashed member of a elite of racers who have been convinced to race their motors geared to lose??? I ask you the RCTech public.

Give your all and keep your opinions brief. Let's not start a war. Let's get to the bottom of this "temp thing". Is a temp gun really for NINNIES???

Does it retard a generation of "could be" race leaders??

Let's hear your thoughts!!
