Depends on use. If you want to run a brushless in ROAR event, you must have sensored motor. Mamba, Novak, LRP ESCs are all OK for ROAR.
You simply need a ROAR approved motor and thats all. The Orion, SpeedPassion and Trinity motors all can be run thru a sensorless system. Some of the companies promote that the motors can be run sensored or sensorless. The SpeedPassion esc combo can run both sensored or sensorless.
As far as reliability, price and technology the Mamba Max system is unbeatable and throw in the new Sidewinder and you and killer one two punch. You can see Castle is on to something as all other manufactures are trying to scramble to make high end systems at cheaper prices.
