Also consider the Take Off CS-27 tires. I have been using these tires since last fall, they were the handout tire for the Novak USTC, and I have also been using them ever since.
You can't beat the pricing on them, $25-$30 for pre-mounted CS-27 tires. They also work great.
My best suggestion is to see what the other racers run for a rubber compound before you buy a set. At least you'll know where to start by asking around.
