I think you mentioned your going to be racing on hard packed dirt/clay which is exactly what i will be racing on. Hopefully we can share some setup up tips in the future as there are very few people running this buggy stateside.
Anyway, im trying to understand your last post and i think i know what you mean. When you apply the brakes, is the brake linkage stopper hitting the servo arm? this is a problem i had, my solution was to bend the linage away from where it was hitting and it appears i am getting full braking, but i wont be 100% sure until i get it broken in and running. The brake linkage should be longer than what they tell you in the instruction manual so the stopper doesnt hit.
Heres my setup
Team Magic M1-Turbo
Go Technology turbo 7 port
052 dynamite platinum pipe
ace ds1015 steering servo
ace ds1313 throttle servo
Dx 3.0 radio< which i am waiting for still
another thing i noticed last night is the lack of front front sway bar with the ones provided, the rear sway is much thicker so i moved this one to the front and the front to the rear. they are different lengths so the front protrudes a bit where the linage is an the rear is barley long enough, hopefully this will give some better rear traction, i also added some weight to the back that hopefully will help.
smracer31, good to hear from you!
I'm having to take my time on the buiuld as I'm trying to get other cars ready too
Not sure we are talking about the same linkage but I'll have another look. Lowey70 has written an interesting post just after your original which you might want to read.
On the car set up. I'm looking at lightening the car quite then looking at adding weight to the rear as you have done.
On the brake thing again. I'm going to put an adjustable tie rod, a little like the steering tir roids, to join the two brake levers on the centre diff. It's this linkage, which comes in one piece stock, which I find to bind at full brake. Using the adjustable tie rod should enable also for me to alter front/rear brake bias as grip/conditions alter.............I think..lol
If you want to look at getting more spare parts, try
www.ultralinehobbies.com
They have quite alot for the M1B TURBO ! I just got the LX Shocks and K Factory towers from them.
What diff' set upi are you going with?
I'm starting out with,
Front: 7000WT
Middle: 5000WT
Rear: 5000WT
I also got the Team COBRA rear wing which is much better then stock and should help with rear traction too.
