I think the brushless has better torque than a regular mod just not the top end. On a short track I think you'd beat any mod with it. I've been very impressed plus the runtime is at least 30% better (conservatively). I don't know why the Japanese don't like it. It's awesome to drive. Takes a little getting used to though. There's no drag from the motor so you may have to change your setup a little. Once you drive it you'll be hooked
