Agree that LRP and a 13.5 brushless setup is a fine way to start. Good speed but not completely out of control, with virtually no maintenance.
Be aware, if you plan to race in the Stock classes, that the stock motor is now 17.5 per ROAR rules. But also check at your local track, they may be still running 13.5 as a lot of guys have them.
