Depends on what ya want. More timing equals more RPM, more heat, more battery drain, more brush and commutator wear. Stock is 24 degrees, I certainly wouldn't recommend going past that. Even though we did back in the day for stock racing before locked comms, but motors didn't last long. For general playing around try maybe 10 to 15 degrees or so. That will give ya some zip without too much wear and tear.
