If it has the second ones, call Castle. I'm sure they'll send you some of the updated ones. The ones in the second picture are notorious for causing cogging. Another option (suggested by CC) is to direct solder your motor/esc wires...problem solved.
I took a comparrison look at the pics you posted to the connectors on my system and they look like the ones in the first pic they are wider at the tip and are very nice High current connectors.They have alot of surface connection.
I dout if i cut them off and solder the wires it will change or help the problem.
