Still, I cannot see how much more green this would be in the long term with energy leakage from "the pad". Especially with the amount of energy the pad will have to put out to charge a 1/10th vehicle for at least a 5 minute race. It would be more efficient just to plug in the capacitors and charge directly.
Maybe it's more green because you won't have to worry about throwing batteries out? Less physical waste rather than a power usage issue.
Besides, a car powered by smoke and mirrors has to be more green.
