This issue only exists on the Rubber Spec '008, right? Because I don't have that issue on my Foam Spec '008.
As for the battery, I'm using the Orion 3600 LiPo, and these fit perfectly in the chassis, especially with the case molded fake battery rounds on the bottom, but you will need to trim the battery t-bar to allow the LiPo to slide in far enough, but also prevent it from sliding into the Belt or Spur.
