Make sure the sensor wire is plugged in all the way. That is what makes the LRP stay in Brushless mode I've been told. If not your motor overheats, stutters, and smokes. I have both LRPs and GTBs. They work great. I returned a GTB to Novak recently and their customer service is tops in the industry.
