Most countries have differing tariffs, duties or import taxes on products depending on the country of origin. It may not be Tamiya"s doing at all. You may have done it to yourselves. Politics is a PITA, but it can affect us in the darndest ways. I'm sure that Australia has as many screwy rules and regs as the rest of us do. You should see some of the crap we have to deal with in the USA.
