The CF chassis does not use the Tamiya standard motor mount. Unlike the Tamiya mount, you don't rotate the motor to get the correct spur-pinion spacing. It has two slots, one at the top and one at the bottom where you fit the bolts that hold the motor. You slide the motor towards the spur gear until the teeth mesh then tighten the bolts. Have a look at http://www.rc-area.co.uk/blog/?p=1435. With 28/55 the bolts are about in the centre of the slots and there is at least another 1- 2 mm to go either way.

What spur/pinion combo are you planning on running, because I am not sure you can get beyond 28/52 with the TT-01. Maybe someone else has more experience with that.
