I look at RC racing like golf. It's all about course management. Just because others can get away with it, is it the best plan for you? I find unless my car is very well setup, the lower the wind, the worse it handles. Horsepower NEVER makes your car drive better.
I know at Cleveland in both TC and 1/12 it looked like some of the fastest cars were the slowest cars.
That is, the cars that were fastest down the straight were out of control and lost so much time through the "tight" stuff that there overall lap times were way off. Seemed to me (and I say this not having run a mod motor in anything in over 10 years) that they could have gone faster if they slowed there cars down.
