LOL! All the frustrated n00bies over on the Traxxas Board are bitterly complaining about how the TRX 2.5 (and the carb) is a POS. Some are even talking about talking about a class-action lawsuit.
I call it user error!
Anyway, good to actually see some pix of that engine in the NTC3, I am thinking of trying that too, as soon as the standard-sahft version is available.
PS: Angle your carb a little more so that the throttle linkage has a more efficient straight shot. This will reduce the chances of the slide binding.
