SHINY SIDE UP!! LOL. JK. On the race track as the vehicle (1/8th scale) lifts off the jump face I slowly let off the throttle so it lands front tires first on the down side, or all 4 tires on a flat landing. With my GT2 I have to let off the throttle before it takes off and stand on the brakes while it's in the air. It's a whole lot different than 1/8 scale.
