when i worked for HP a few yr ago it was well known Canon make lexmark and HP. well at least in the laser jet range they do because ppl would buy a canon laserjet cartridge for their HP due to HP's ridiculous mark up.

also HP only half fill their inkjet cartridges.(thats economy printing for ya)

we use a canon IP1300 at our club, and i store it in a cheap cunno's plastic tub with a lid.

the tub doubles as storage for horn speakers, but once the horn speakers are setup the tub's empty and great for stopping printer pages blowing around and dirt fouling on the paper feed rollers.
it also keeps the printer out of the sun.

the results just pile up in the tub if you get lazy instead of blowing around the place
They say you learn the hard way, I had to buy 3 of them before the penny dropped, guess that makes me a slow learner. I wish I had asked first.
Have to agree with you, I would never recommend HP, only got to print about 60 pages before the last one tossed it in. (And they were only 'Part Pages').
The plastic tub idea sounds good.

Cheers,
Marg.
