Thanks for the input guys! I grinded down the pinion shafts and now need to reinstall, they look just like the stock pieces now with the mod.

I only removed 3mm from the shaft which began at 23mm (hot bodies) and the HF was 20mm--measured starting from under gear to base of shaft.
