I'll second that... I've used RIT on wheels and wings... just follow the directions on the package, works great!
I know a guy that used RIT dye to put stripes on his wing (taped off the pattern) and it worked pretty well... he got some bleed under where he didn't press the tape down well enough in the corners... but otherwise it looked good.
