How far off would you recommend I could run my car before you run into handling issues? I have lots of room to move stuff around, so thats no biggie.....
I would suggest running the car with the proper weight added to make the 50/50 balance as close as possible. As you deviate from a 50/50 balance, chassis roll(left to right) will not react equally linear in both directions. It will also affect how weight transfers from front to back.

How much this affects your handling really depends on many variables including: track conditions, set-up and driving style. You can probably get away with more of an uneven weight balance running foams on carpet compared to any other racing condition. While rubber tires on low bite asphalt benefits most from a truly balanced set-up.
