Usually beginners run 48 pitch and expert drivers run 64 pitch.

48pitch has bigger teeth, easier to mesh and can be harder to strip.

64pitch has fine teeth, harder to mesh and easier to strip/break teeth.

Usually if you go up a tooth in 48 pitch you will probably go up 3 or 4 teeth in 64 pitch to get the same gearing ratio.

If you crash alot 48 pitch is more forgiving that 64 pitch.

Just trying to answer your question, not trying to define, where you are at in RC.
