Any charger that allows you to specify your exact charge voltage and current for lipo while performing a CVCC charge, will charge the a123 cells. You need to change from 4.2 volts per cell to 3.6 volts per cell charge rate. I think the MRC 959 allows this, and you can always wire up and external balancer to a charger without balancing capabilities for about 30 bucks. My brother uses the electrifly external balancer with his 959.

But that is the main difference to bear in mind, the a123 uses CVCC (constant voltage, constant current) like all the other lipo's, it just expects a charge voltage of 3.6 per cell as opposed to 4.2 like most other li-xx batts.
