Dan's Banana Lube in my opinion is the best. I've tried about everything in the last 15 years and have always gone back to it. Plus it smells like bananas!
If you aren't running in dusty or muddy conditions, use metal shielded bearings and they will actually get faster as time goes on. Just clean them with motor spray, then stick them on the end of a pair of needle nose pliers and spin them. If they feel a little notchy or gritty reclean them. Do this till they feel smooth. If you can't get them to feel smooth, toss them. Once they are smooth just lay them flat on a clean cloth and put a good dose of oil on them and let it seep in.
