is that true? i know that a digital servo is required when using hrs (high response) systems due the frame rate and whatnot, but i've not heard anything negative about the use of digital servos with am radios.

further, i don't believe the receiver type to regulate the voltage or current of the signal going to the receiver. most bec specs are defined by the esc's ability to provide those (v,i). and most esc's are rated between 5.6-6.0v output to the receiver.

here's some additional literature that could help. sort of, i would have guessed futaba to insert a caveat if this technology could not be used with am radios.
