Someone on here made some machined Corally ride-height adjusters, so he could make you some with a 3/8" hole to take the bearing, but you'd have to ask IRS to make you a special axle without the collar. However, why would you want to do this?
The larger Corally (ceramic) axle bearings last forever as they have larger balls and rotate at slower speeds than the Assoc type. Additionally, the larger axle means you'll never break one (we always do the wheel, never the axle!) and the diff itself stays smoother for longer than the Assoc. (see note above for OD). Stick with it, it's great! HTH

When I tighten the three wheel nuts holding the diff side tire to the diff hub the screws protrude into the diff ring and cause the diff ring-dif to bind. I know I could just shorten the screws or buy smaller wheel screws. I have had nothing but issues with the diff nut commng loose. I have got it to run but I miss the good old standard american axle that is so smooth.. and you can get the parts anywhere. I was hoping that slapmaster or someone had made a version with the thicker axle with a metal diff adjusting nut... I am running the sp12x Car is great just prefer the irs asle set up. I am going to try and use one of my older axles that don't use the off set diff hub... and try to get some bearings that will work.
