No, if you want a shelf queen, go to ebay. Never will happen because not many buyers for it. Collectors would scream very loud at AE, they would lose out big as an investment.
I don't think a re-release would hurt any of the original's values. Also, I don't know of anyone who buys these older cars as an "investment". For me it would just be more of a nostalgia thing. It's not like these are going to be worth any real money.
