There seems to be a lot of interesting talk on this forum so I thought I would post my experiences with my Ninja 12T01A. I purchased the kit with the pipe, destroyed the pipe now I am running the FLS.

Breaking in the motor was a snack, very easy with only a few stalls which was nice. I use my normal method which is nothing special so not really worth going into.

When tuned for a largish track I found it seems to like a slightly lower first gear than the novas (ie. it has less punch) and needs a slightly taller top gear than the novas (ie. it has slightly less rpm). When geared right and with the correct clutch I dont really give much away to the top end Novas, but it definitely is slower by a fraction. The FLS pipe gave the motor a touch more top end as well which was nice. ALL other pipes I have tried have been worse than the ninja pipes.

I would only use the Ninja plugs, all other plugs I have tried (Nova and OS) make the motor very unhappy for some reason. I used nova plugs to start with and it pinged like mad and my motor was damaged by pre-ignition.
With the Ninja plugs it runs nice.

I recently had the carb come out the block like some others. I cannot say whether this is some chronic problem or a once off yet.

I run at the recent worlds track and I am still using the same rod that came with the motor and I broke it in on. Still WELL within tolerances and so is the crankpin.

My motor does NOT need to run particularly hotter than other motors. It runs pretty much where my Novas run when tuned right. I do know it can take a heap of heat, mine came in over 150 celcius when the carb decided to come out causing an airleak. The motor got real slow, but the piston and liner fit is still perfect and there was no other ill effects.

Dunno if this is of any interest to most people, but I am really happy with my motor. I know a couple of people on this thread who have had problems with their motors and thats a shame, but I know many more who are happy locally.

My motor is about 6 months old and gets run every fortnight with a 20-30 minute final. Usually a practice session once per month as well with 1-2 litres of fuel used.
