I didn't tighten mine til I had all the blocks attached to the bulkheads. I found it easier to tighten everything up once the blocks where all together and attched to the bulkheads. I would tighten one part of it at a time and check for binding. If non I went to the next part and tightened. No binding this way.

I did have to sand my shims a tad with emory cloth but not a big deal. Everything is nice and smooth with no binding.
