Hey guys since the spur gear subject came up, I have always run 48p in my TC, now to get the right mesh someone showed me a trick, that is put a 20t pinion on (or 2 teeth bigger than what you want) slide the 20t as far into the spur as possible then tighten down the motor, take the 20t pinion off, and install the 18t, and you will have a perfect mesh. Is there something simmilar for 64p, or how do you get the right gear mesh
Put a thin piece of paper, or foil (cigarette pack liner foil is ideal) between the pinion and the spur. Snug them together, tighten the motor, roll the paper out - job done!
Much easier than swapping pinions, and works right first time every time. As stated above, make sure there are no tight spots. HTH
