a burning r/c in this sport is really really bad.that is actually the first time i've seen or heard it happen(never even thought it could ever happen)i would agree that a fail-safe wouldn't work because there wouldn't be any power being supplied to the fail-safe.i use a hair style rubber band.its really durable,doesn't break up if it gets oily.costs around a buck for like 100 rubber bands.cheap and effective.
