well if you were to do your own screws (if you were that desparate for them) it would be easier to make a lathing butt on a com lathe than it would be to go out and buy a screw lathe which is practically a com lathe with a butt already with it. I guess you could make a lathing butt out of a metal punch or something similar and a block of wood. Im just putting forward ideas here
